Speed limit ignored

EDITOR:

Writing to comment on Sheila Gardner's story on the Minden council discussing lowering the speed limit from 35 to 25 as you enter the town of Minden on 395.

I have no idea who has jurisdiction on controlling the speed limit on 395 through Minden and Gardnerville, but I think as most locals know 80 percent of the folks driving on 395 through the communities totally ignore the posted speed limit ... 25.

Due respect to the good job the sheriff and the Nevada Highway Patrol do, I would have to presume they have more important issues to deal with than monitoring speed limits on 395 as it is a real rare occasion when you see a stop for exceeding the speed limit
