A Minden man facing trial for kidnapping and robbery is scheduled to change his plea this morning in Douglas County District Court. A jury trial for Robert C. Pierce, 33, was set for Nov. 2 in connection with an incident where he and a partner allegedly left a man in the Pine Nuts with only his shoes and his underwear. The partner, Timothy Young, pleaded guilty and has been sentenced.

Reno broke a 139-year record for rainfall during the month of October. Genoa received a third of an inch of rain overnight. The Gardnerville Ranchos received .14 inches and Fish Springs got .19 inches.

The only road controls reported this morning in Nevada are related to construction. Sonora Pass is closed due to snow, according to the California Highway Patrol. Both Ebbetts Pass and Carson Pass are open this morning, however.

We'll see a few isolated showers as the storm clears off this morning. Expect the today's high to hit 62 degrees under mostly cloudy skies.
