The R-C Morning Report

U.S. Forest Service crews will be conducting a controlled burn off Buchanan Drive on Kingsbury Grade today through Friday, if the weather cooperates. The burn is for 10-15 acres, according to the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit's Web site. Residents and motorists can expect to see smoke in the area.

U.S. Sen. John Ensign is in Gardnerville speaking before the Sierra Nevada Republican Women at Two Guys from Italy today and then the Republican Central Committee on Thursday. Also at the Sierra Nevada women today is Nevada Republican Chairman Mark Amodei.

It's chilly out this morning, but it didn't crack freezing, according to the readings I have. Looks like Minden was the low with 36 degrees. It's 40 degrees in the Ranchos and 39 degrees in Genoa. Today should be sunny and warm, with a high near 76 and a low tonight near 32. Next chance for moisture is Sunday, maybe.
