Thanks for the help

EDITOR:

The members of Douglas County Sheriff's Search and Rescue would like to thank the following organizations for their assistance in making our recent Search and Rescue Conference 2010 held Nov. 5-7 an extremely successful event: Douglas County Sheriff's Department and Sheriff Ron Pierini, Douglas County School District, Tahoe-Douglas Fire Department, East Fork Fire District, Douglas County Parks and Recreation Department, Round Hill Pines, Lakeside Inn, Nevada State Department of Emergency Management, and Washoe County Sheriff's Department Raven helicopter group.

The conference training sessions were staged at various locations throughout Douglas County from the County Fairgrounds to Whittell High School. The class curriculum included a myriad of search and rescue disciplines that enabled SAR volunteers to hone their skills to better serve the citizens of our communities.

The conference has been held in our area for the past three years and has drawn volunteers from the entire western region of the United States. We are looking forward to the possibility of hosting the conference again next year.
