The R-C Morning Report

The company formerly known as Park Cattle Co. named a new president and chief executive officer on Wednesday. Former Harveys Casino Resorts' Chuck Scharer has been named to the position by Edgewood Companies. A Zephyr Cove resident, Scharer has been on the board of directors of the company since November 2008. He replaces Genoa resident Brad Nelson, who resigned earlier this month.

We'll find out this morning if the Douglas County School District has a new superintendent. Douglas County School Board trustees met last night, but were in closed session at last report. They voted to hire Washoe County's Lisa Noonan in May.

The closer we get to the weekend, the more it looks like the temperatures are going to redline a bit. Temperatures are expected to climb to 97 degrees on Sunday and Monday, pretty much the first time we've seen 90-plus temperatures in a long time. It's forecast to be partly sunny today with a high of 80. Temperatures start their climb on Friday
