Thanks for the hospitality

EDITOR:

In preparation for the Carson Valley Days parade on Saturday, June 12, Citizen Patrol volunteers and others regulated the traffic to prevent entry on Highway 395 after 8 a.m.

I was placed at Lampe Drive next to the Chevron station. People we stopped were very cooperative. One lady crossed the street and asked me if I wanted some coffee. When I offered to pay, she said no, she would treat. By 9:30 a.m. Lampe Drive was filled with chairs so people could see the parade.

Soon a man offered me a doughnut and a cup of orange juice and I was very happy with that. This shows again that Douglas County has very nice people that live here and that volunteer work has many, many rewards.

Thank you.
