Parks & rec is more than fun and games

The Douglas County parks system includes nine parks plus the Douglas County Shooting Range, Carson Valley skate facility and Round Hill bike path. Pavilions at Lampe, Ranchos Aspen, Stodick and Zephyr Cove parks have barbecue grills, tables and electricity.

Lampe Park has ball fields, soccer field, volleyball and tennis courts, group picnic shelter, restrooms.

Stodick Park, off Toler Road, has a tot ball field, softball fields with soccer field overlays, playground, group area, restroom and concession building.

Ranchos Aspen Park in the Gardnerville Ranchos has youth baseball fields, soccer field, paved pathways, horseshoe pits, sand volleyball court, play areas, group pavilion, restroom and concession building.

Johnson Lane Park on Stephanie Lane has a softball/baseball/soccer field, basketball court, group picnic shelter and play area.

Zephyr Cove Park has a softball/soccer field, group picnic areas, exercise trail system, a Frisbee disc golf course and restrooms.

Brautovich Park off Kingsbury Grade has ball fields and play areas. Kahle Park includes outdoor facilities and community center.

Topaz Ranch Estates Park has a community recreation building, play area, youth baseball field, basketball court, picnic area, horseshoe pits and restrooms.

Topaz Lake Park has campsites with water and power hookups, group campsite, boat ramp, restrooms and day use areas. Boat and RV storage available.

Support the parks

The Share Because You Care Program is an opportunity to make donatations to support projects such as flagpoles, park benches, sand volleyball courts, picnic table concrete pads for handicap access, play equipment, flower beds, drinking fountains, horseshoe pits, trees and tennis nets.

Make a gift in the name of a special person, an organization, in your own name, or anonymously. Donors receive recognition from the parks department.
