The R-C Morning Report

Most of the California fires are in their last stages, and none are producing much in the way of smoke that might move into Western Nevada. Fire crews got a line around the Mono fire a day early last night and they are mopping up the 1,205-acre fire. The Potato fire near Bridgeport has been out for more than a day

A red flag warning goes into effect 2-10 p.m. today as gusty winds and low humidity conspire to increase the chance of ignition. A fire weather watch is in place for Saturday when critical fire conditions are possible. There won't be any lightning, so we'll have only ourselves to blame if there's a fire.

Expect high temperatures today in the low 90s under sunny skies. The wind will be 10-15 mph gusting to 25 mph at times. The wind will continue to build tonight with gusts increasing to 30 mph.
