A former Gardnerville man is scheduled to be arraigned in district court this morning. Tyler S. Schroeder is facing charges in several matters, including sentencing in August on charges he stole his mother's jewelry. Schroeder was sought on a warrant for theft and possession of stolen property. He absconded from drug court where he'd been sent a year ago and was officially kicked out in June.

Genoans are scheduled to discuss the future of the Genoa Cowboy Poetry & Music Festival at their regular meeting 6:30 p.m. today. Last year's festival was a joint venture of the town and the Carson Valley Arts Council.

Gardnerville town board members will discuss appointing Tom Dallaire the town manager at their meeting 4:30 p.m. today. Tom Cook's chairman, so don't blink or be late, because he's the fastest gavel in the West.

The National Weather Service has issued a fire weather watch starting Wednesday afternoon. Isolated thunderstorms and critically dry fuels are expected to increase the chance of wildfires. Today expect highs in the upper 80s with a slight chance of thunderstorms.
