An informational meeting for the Miss Douglas County and Miss Carson City scholarship programs for women 17-24 is 11 p.m. Jan. 17 at Round Table Pizza, 961 Topsy Lane. Information also given on the Miss Outstanding Teen program for ages 13-17. Information, Shauna Bartshe, (775) 230-3745.
The Miss Douglas County and Miss Carson City scholarship programs are part of the Miss America Organization, one of the nation's leading achievement programs and the world's largest provider of scholarship assistance for young women. Last year, the Miss America Organization and its state and local programs more than $45 million in scholarship assistance available.
Parents are welcome at this meeting. Pageant hopefuls be at least a graduating high school senior this spring, never been married or pregnant.
