The first informational meeting of the Miss Douglas County and Miss Carson City scholarship programs is 2 p.m. Jan. 18 at Round Table Pizza, 961 Topsy Lane, Carson City.
Women 17-24 are invited to attend the meeting about the 2009 Miss Douglas County and Miss Carson City pageant.
Candidates should be at least a graduating high school senior, never married or pregnant. Parents are welcome at the meeting.
The Miss Douglas County and Miss Carson City scholarship programs are part of the Miss America organization, which made more than $45 million in scholarship assistance available last year.
Miss Carson City 2008 is currently serving as Miss Nevada 2008 and will be participating in the Miss America pageant.
