Kathi D'Amico
1953-2009
Kathi D'Amico, 56, died at her home in Gardnerville on Dec. 31, 2009. She was born Sept. 26, 1953, to Richard and Juanita Doyle in Cupertino, Calif. She worked for the Douglas County School District as yard duty at Meneley Elementary School and loved children.
In January 2006 Mrs. D'Amico received a liver transplant made possible by a local donation by the parents of David Sullivan. After her transplant operation she worked for two years at the Austin's House Carson Valley Children's Center.
Mrs. D'Amico is survived by her husband David and daughter Kelly.
The family thanks friends and physicians who cared for her, and Carson Valley Medical Center staff. The family thanks Jim and Melinda Morris for making health insurance available, and to the Sullivans for giving them four more years with her.
Donations in Kathi D'Amico's name may be made to Austin's House.
No services are planned. Capitol City Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
