A graveside service is 2 p.m. today at Eastside Memorial Park for eight-year Gardnerville resident Alva Eugene Cumins Jr., 71. Mr. Cumins died May 30, 2008.

Born March 11, 1937, in Los Angeles to Alva Eugene and Nadean Wilson Cumins, he graduated high school and received other certifications.

Mr. Cumins served in the U.S. Air Force as an electronics technician. He married Sandra Sue Martin Feb. 24, 1961. He was a Ham radio operator and a doctor of divinity and enjoyed photography and scuba diving.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father and his wife, Sandra Cumins, who died January 2000.

Mr. Cumins is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Chuck Zumpft; grandsons Chase and Corbin Zumpft; brother and sister-in-law Bill and Nancy Cumins; seven nieces, four nephews and an aunt.

Burial is at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden. Memorial donations may be made to Austin's House. FitzHenry's Carson Valley in in charge of arrangements.

A memorial fund has been established for the son of Jacks Valley resident Gregory Evan Pichon, who was killed May 23, 2008, in a motorcycle accident near Ely.

Born April 21, 1953, in Berkeley, Calif., Mr. Pichon was a 32-year resident of Lake Tahoe.

He is survived by his wife, Kerstin; his three children Adam, Arianne, and Erik; his mother Lorraine; and his siblings Matthew, Jennifer, and Andrew. Family members said he never met a stranger, and made friends with everyone he met. He was a wonderful husband, father, and friend.

A memorial service was May 30, 2008 at Tahoe Community Church. Donations may be made to the Erik Pichon Assistance Fund, Account No. 501003942897.

A memorial service is 1 p.m. Saturday at Waltons Douglas County Mortuary for Bonnie Lee Robertshaw, who died May 18, 2008, at home in Minden. She was 76.

She was born Nov. 18, 1931, in Chicago to Elmer and Leona Schoenbeck.

Mrs. Robertshaw graduated from Calumet High School and was the captain of her high school basketball team.

She worked for Kaiser Aluminum for several years in both Chicago and Oakland. She moved to Oakland in 1959 and married Richard H. Turner. After her children were grown, Mrs. Robertshaw worked and retired from Sunshine Biscuits.

Mrs. Robertshaw moved to Minden eight years ago to be closer to her family.

She loved playing bridge, reading, crossword puzzles, old movies and traveling. She loved life and her grandsons. She had many wonderful friends she loved very much.

Mrs. Robertshaw was preceded in death by her husband Richard H. Turner in 1964.

She is survived by her son, Richard H. Turner II of King Cove, Alaska; her daughter, Kimberley L. Nagy, son-in-law, Mark J. Nagy and grandsons, Lucas A. Nagy and Jacob R. Nagy all of Gardnerville; cousin, Penny Waisner and her husband, Ron Waisner of Lincoln, Calif., and their sons, Jeff and Tim; cousin, Pat Finan of Florida and daughters, Michelle and Karen.

Mrs. Robertshaw's inurnment is planned for later this summer at Chapel of the Chimes in Oakland. Walton's Douglas County Mortuary in Minden is in charge of arrangements and cremation.
