Good job, Minden

EDITOR:

It was nice to read Mr. William Souligny's letter declaring his interest in filling one of the three seats opening on the Minden Town Board.

First let me parrot Mr. Souligny's statements regarding the current board. As a resident of Minden, I am quite proud of our city, and its governance.

Further, I was heartened to see that apparently well qualified people such as Mr. Souligny were still willing to step up and serve. I have dealt with Mr. Souligny a few times professionally, and know him to be a very personable patron of local businesses. To read his qualifications in his letter made me only that much more sure he would make a great replacement to attempt to fill those three very large pairs of shoes as Messrs. Hadfield, Chichester and Sheets.

All too often what is going well fails to get noticed, while what is going poorly gets all the attention. As such, the Minden Town Board has not seen much "press," which, under the circumstances, is a very good thing.

I have also had professional dealings with Bob Hadfield and Ross Chichester, and know them to be similarly dispositioned and qualified as Mr. Souligny.

All of this considered, consistency is exactly what Minden needs. It is very re-assuring to read that at least one of those running for the board recognizes and appreciates that.

Thank you Bob, Ross and David, for your service to our community, and good luck to you William.
