A violin class offered through Douglas County Parks & Recreation Department offers students in third through sixth grades the opportunity to become acquainted with the violin. Students will be able to play several short melodies by the end of the course. Cost of $25 includes all materials and the use of a violin. Class is 3:30-4:10 p.m. Wednesdays, Feb. 24 to March 17, at Gardnerville Elementary School. Make required registration with Douglas County Parks & Recreation, 782-9844.
