Free champagne toast at midnight, and live entertainment by the Vegas Road Show, 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. in the Carson Valley Inn's Cabaret Lounge. The Vegas Road Show features Cody Stevens and Barbara Christy-Stevens who play classic rock, country, smooth jazz and pop.

Sharkey's

Mile High Jazz Band Association presents Lucky Diamond and the Gents o' Jive, 8 p.m. tonight at Sharkey's Casino in Gardnerville. The Roaring '20s celebration includes complimentary hors d'oeuvres at 10 p.m. and balloon drop at midnight.

The Gents o' Jive are Dan Lancaster on sax, clarinet, and flute; John Dijkstra on trumpet and flugelhorn; Jimmy Vermillion on keyboard; Joe La Chew on guitar; and Mark Ashworth, aka Lucky Diamond, on drums.

St. Gall dance gala

The Gardnerville Council of the Knights of Columbus New Year's Eve Dance Gala is tonight at the St. Gall Pastoral Center. The event features the 16-piece Sierra Swing Band of Reno. Doors open at 8 p.m. with music at 9 p.m. Table snacks and a no-host bar available. Hors d'oeuvres served at 10 p.m. and champagne at midnight.
