WNC Douglas offers business classes

Whether aiming for a career or preparing for transfer to a four-year college, Douglas area residents may take advantage of local educational opportunities.

A number of business-related offerings are scheduled in the coming spring term at Western Nevada College Douglas, 1680 Bently Parkway, Minden.Introduction to Business meets Mondays 7-9:45 p.m. Students will learn the fundamentals of the modern business world. The class is ideal for anyone considering business as a major.

Business Law 1 meets Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:30-6:45 p.m. The class covers the nature and sources of law, including the study of court systems, contracts, negotiable instruments, sales, insurance and agencies.

Introduction to Small Business Management meets Thursdays, 7-9:45 p.m. The class helps students develop an understanding of the small business enterprise. Business planning, finance, marketing, and administrative control will be covered.

Business Letters and Reports and Human Relations for Employment, as well as additional management classes, are available as Web classes.

Students can also enroll in accounting, economics and information-systems classes through WNC Douglas. Classes meet requirements for an associate of applied science degree in business or a certificate of achievement in business or bookkeeping.
