Slick roads cause accidents

Two accidents occurred on Highway 395 within minutes of each other this morning. The highway is slick after rain froze under a layer of snow.

The first accident happened 6:56 a.m. in the southbound lanes at Muller Lane and involved two pickups. One person was transported by East Fork ambulance to Carson Valley Medical Center for treatment. Tow trucks were called for both vehicles.

A second accident occurred at 7:01 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the highway between Muller and Genoa lanes.

Firefighters reported no injuries at the second accident. The Nevada Highway Patrol is being called to the Muller accident.

Chains or snow tires are being required on Highway 395 from just south of Gardnerville to Carson City.
