Santa at Tumbleweeds

The third annual pancake breakfast and photos with Santa is Saturday at Tumbleweeds Gymnastics Minden gym, 2231 Meridian Blvd. Unit 2, Minden. Pancake breakfast, 7:30-10:30 a.m., is $5, free for age 2 and younger. Photo with Santa is $5, 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Leave your children for Drop-n-Shop, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost is $35 and includes lunch. Information, 782-4496.


Crafting fair Saturday

Local crafters, cooks and canners present their wares in the Trimmers Outpost barn at 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Free craft sessions for children, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Free hot chocolate and coffee. The barn is behind Trimmers Outpost, 2276 Main St., Genoa. Information, 782-4517.


Christmas party at senior center

The Young At Heart Senior Citizens Club's Christmas party for seniors is Saturday at the Douglas County Senior Center, 2300 Meadow Lane, Gardnerville. Social at noon, food served at 1 p.m. Bring a gift if you want to play in the pirate gift exchange. The gift should be at least $5, male for a male, female for female. Pops winter concert Saturday

The Carson Valley Pops Orchestra's Winter Concert conducted by Elizabeth Eubanks is 7 p.m. Saturday at the CVIC Hall in Minden. The family concert is presented by the Town of Minden. The orchestra is made up of musicians who volunteer their time and talent to provide free concerts in the Valley. Drawings for prizes. Doors open 6:30 p.m.


Mentors wanted

Douglas County residents are wanted as volunteers for the family mentoring program through Douglas County Social Services Division. Applicants must be at least 21 years old, willing to make a one-year commitment with one hour of contact per week, and pass a background check.
