Highway Patrol seeking hit and run driver

Nevada Highway Patrol troopers are looking for the driver of a silver Dodge or Chevrolet pickup that was involved in a hit and run accident on Tuesday.

The accident occurred at 5:35 p.m. when two vehicles stopped at the traffic light at Buckeye and Highway 395 were hit from behind.

According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the driver of the pickup hit the rear of a green 1996 Chevrolet Geo driven by a 53-year-old Carson City woman.

The Geo was forced into the rear of a 1991 BMW sedan driven by a 59-year-old Gardnerville man.

The driver of the Geo received minor injuries and was treated by East Fork Paramedics. The driver of the BMW was not injured.

Witnesses told troopers the woman backed up and fled the scene. A partial license plate from the pickup contained the characters 711W.
