Minden resident Amber Wilson identified as woman killed in 395 accident

The victim of a fatal accident on Highway 395 on Thursday night was identified as Minden resident Amber Wilson, 25.

According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, Wilson was northbound on Highway 395 near Stephanie Way in a 1991 Chevrolet Suburban when she collided with the rear of a 1997 Freightliner tractor pulling a 53-foot enclosed bottled water trailer. The accident happened at 10:08 p.m.

An initial report that the Freightliner turned north onto Highway 395 from Stephanie Way was incorrect. The Freightliner was stopped at the light on Highway 395.

The truck was driven by Aristeo Luna, 35, of Lancaster, Calif. Neither Luna nor his passenger, Rene Enrique Castellon, 53, of Palmdale, Calif., were hurt in the accident.

Northbound traffic was stopped for several hours and re-routed around the scene onto Stephanie Way. The highway patrol's Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the crash.

Trooper Chuck Allen asked that witnesses or anyone with additional information contact Trooper Kris Satterwhite at (775) 689-4682 regarding case No. NHP-0910151978.
