Pub crawl Saturday

The second annual Santa Pub Crawl to benefit the Carson Valley Community Food Closet is 6-9 p.m. Saturday in Gardnerville. Entry is a donation of $5 or two cans of food. New Year's Eve dance gala

The Knights of Columbus New Year's Eve Dance Gala at St. Gall Pastoral Center features the 16-piece Sierra Swing Band of Reno. Doors open 8 p.m., music at 9 p.m. Snacks and a no-host bar available. Book signing Saturday

Liz Broscoe signs copies of her book "Adventures of Durga, Messenger of the Drum," 2-4 p.m. Saturday, at Border's Books, 911 Topsy Lane in Carson City. Broscoe's interactive story time performance includes a demonstration of several drums mentioned in the book. Audience participation is encouraged.
