County commissioners approved consolidating Sunrise Estates with the East Valley water system on Thursday. They also approved a sewer rate hike for the 1,800-some customers of the North Valley Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Tonight the rolling lights show goes to Minden for the annual gazebo and tree lighting. There's a lot going on in the Douglas County seat tonight. Check out the calendar in today's R-C either in print or in its e-edition. Genoa will be lighting Hope Falcke's tree tonight at about the same time. Parade of Lights is Saturday.
This storm has prompted some road controls over Carson Pass and on 89 between Pickett's Junction almost to Meyers. Otherwise the roads are pretty clear. That's because it's 47 degrees outside this morning. The high is only forecast to be 3 degrees warmer today under cloudy skies. We're forecast to receive about four-tenths of an inch of rain over the weekend and Monday. We'll see.
