Christmas tree bingo

The Tahoe-Douglas Elks annual spaghetti feed and Christmas tree bingo is 5 p.m. today at the CVIC Hall in Minden. Dinner is $6 for adults, $4 for children 10 and younger.

The Four Preps perform at 5 p.m. The group sings Christmas songs, and their hits including "26 Miles Across the Sea" from 1958.

Bingo is played after the Minden gazebo lighting at 6 p.m. Prizes for children's games.

Proceed from the event go toward Christmas gift baskets for county seniors.


Minden Christmas

Minden's Weihnachts Fest German Christmas marketplace is 2-8 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at the COD Garage on Esmeralda Ave.

Crafts, gifts, decorations, German food, and hot mulled wine. Free photos with Santa today.

Entertainment by Douglas High School jazz band and the Girl Scouts beginning 5:15 p.m. today. The Carson Valley Middle School choir performs in the CVIC Hall after the Parade of Lights on Saturday. Old-time country music and Christmas carols by All Hat No Cattle begins 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Genoa Christmas

The Town of Genoa hosts caroling and a Christmas tree lighting 5:30 p.m. today. Refreshments available. Expect a visit from Santa.

Breakfast with Santa Claus is 8:30-11 a.m. Saturday in the Genoa Community Center. On the menu is pancakes, sausage, orange juice, cocoa and coffee. Tickets are $5 adults, $2.50 children. Bring your camera for photos with Santa. Information, 782-8696.


Holiday Gala at museum

The Douglas County Historical Society's 14th annual Gallery of Trees is Saturday at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center, 1477 Highway 395, Gardnerville. The annual event features the Gallery of Trees, cookie walk, gingerbread houses on display, photos with Santa, and book store sale. Information, historicnevada.org or 782-2555.


Parade of Lights

The 15th annual Parade of Lights begins 5 p.m. Saturday. The parade route is on Highway 395 from Lampe Park in Gardnerville to Minden Park. Information, 782-8144.


Candy Cane Lane display at CVI

The Candy Cane Lane Christmas holiday display is dusk nightly through December in the parking lot of the Carson Valley Inn on Highway 395 in Minden.

View the free drive-by display by entering the CVI parking lot at the RV resort entrance between the Carson Valley Market and the electronic sign. Lighted arches mark the way.

Heritage Park in Gardnerville

Enjoy the Christmas light show in Heritage Park from 4:30-10 p.m. throughout the holidays. While at the park, tune your car radio to 89.9 FM to hear the music accompanying the light show. Information, gardnerville-nv.gov or 782-7134.
