Fire burning northwest of Spooner

Fire officials are responding to a small fire off Highway 28 near the Washoe County line on Lake Tahoe's East Shore.

Tia Rancourt, spokeswoman for the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District, said a brush truck and the Slide Mountain Hand Crew are on scene, battling the 50 foot by 50 foot spot fire.
