Bicyclists injured in separate Douglas vehicle accidents

A bicyclist is in critical but stable condition at Renown Medical Center after a collision in Minden at about 3 p.m. Wednesday.

The identity of the woman injured in the accident is not yet being revealed by the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Trooper Danny Lopez said Thursday the woman's family had not yet been notified.

According to the highway patrol, the bicyclist was riding north on the west sidewalk along Highway 395 when she collided with a full-sized GMC driven by a Gardnerville resident. The bicyclist and the truck ended up in the highway's center lane.

The bicyclist was helicoptered to Reno for treatment.

It was the second accident involving a bicyclist and a vehicle in Douglas County within three hours.

At about 12:35 p.m. he collided with a Honda driven by a Kingsbury man.
