Bicyclist injured in Highway 395 accident

A bicyclist was helicoptered to Reno for medical treatment after colliding with a pickup on Highway 395 in front of the Bank of America.

Traffic was down to one lane either way on the highway for the accident, which was reported at 3:09 p.m.

Douglas County deputies and East Fork medics were first authorities on scene at the accident.

The bicyclist was taken to Douglas High School where Care Flight ambulance helicopter picked him up and transported him to Renown Medical Center.

The Nevada Highway Patrol is in charge of the investigation.

Traffic was backed up while medics worked on the victim and officers investigated the accident.
