The Miller fire in Mason Valley is contained and fire crews are mopping up. There's still some smoldering on the interior. Firefighters are hoping to get the thing completely out before the wind picks up. At its height on Thursday, Carson Valley residents could see smoke from the fire.
The Green Thumb Garden Club is meeting this morning at the Carson Valley United Methodist Church. The club meets at 10 a.m. For more information call 265-9554.
A strong cold front is bringing windy weather starting today. The wind will pick up in earnest at about 11 a.m. Expect gusts of up to 30 mph at around 6 p.m. The high temperature today will hit 85 degrees under partly cloudy skies.
