The Douglas volleyball team warmed up for a key league matchup this week by sweeping through the Yerington Invitational over the weekend, winning seven-straight matches.
The tournament concluded with the Tigers, currently ranked fifth in the Sierra Nevada Sports Media Polls, upending No. 4 Yerington in the championship game 19-25, 25-12, 15-11.
Jourdan Burke and Mysta Townsell earned all-tournament honors.
The wins brought Douglas' streak to 11 consecutive wins. The Tigers will run into their biggest test of the 2009 season Tuesday night at home against top-ranked Damonte Ranch.
Douglas also beat Sparks, Fernley, Battle Mountain, Spanish Springs, Dayton and Truckee in the tournament.
Douglas is 18-2 overall on the year and 2-0 in Sierra League play.
