Tiger volleyball opens season 6-1

The Douglas High volleyball team took part in the annual Yerington tournament over the weekend, going 6-1 while winning 13 of 17 sets.

Junior Suzy Berger led the way on offense with 26 kills while Makinzy Machado and Parker Estes each added 16 kills.

In the front, Hailee Koontz had seven blocks while Machado added five.

Sumer Williams had 47 digs at libero.

Douglas beat North Valleys, Coleville, Pershing County, Fallon and Pahranagat Valley, losing to Carson, 2-1.

UP NEXT: Douglas begins league play at Reed on Thursday at 6 p.m.
