When Judge Michael Gibbons sentenced Matthew Golden last December for burglarizing Valley businesses, he said he wouldn't hesitate to send him to prison if he violated his probation. It's September, and Golden is back before Gibbons for probation violation. If Gibbons chooses to, he could send Golden to prison for five years this morning.

On Saturday, the Nevada Press Association honored Genoan Brendan Riley by naming him to the Nevada Journalists Hall of Fame. Riley served as the Associated Press capitol bureau reporter for the better part of four decades. The press convention was in Winnemucca this year.

It won't be quite as hot as forecast for the last day of summer, but it will be nice with a high of 83 degrees and sunny skies. The first day of fall will not look much different with a high of 85 degrees and sunny skies. It's going to warm up though and by Candy Dance weekend, we'll be looking at 88 degrees.
