Hope is in custody, but there's always a possibility he won't appear in court. A woman who tested positive for methamphetamine and marijuana after her baby was stillborn in 2004 is back in court for a probation violation. Crystal Moreno has been on probation for a 12-30 month prison sentence since June after she failed drug court.

The county traded an unused easement on Bently property for the right of way to East Valley Road on Thursday, formalizing the county's ownership of the entire thing. The county put down grindings that essentially paved the long-neglected eastern thoroughfare and with the right of way question settled further improvements may be seen in the future.
