The R-C Morning Report

A husband and wife team, who made the mistake of breaking into a martial arts studio while the martial artist was there, face sentencing today. Matthew Golden faces up to a decade in Nevada State Prison on one count of burglary while wife Amanda Golden admitted to attempted burglary and could receive probation with a year in jail. Mr. Golden broke into the studio the first time and took $5,500 in cash, credit cards and checks. He then returned to the scene of the crime with his wife, who took another $400. The owner of the business was waiting for the Goldens the third time.

It doesn't look like it's going to be a very happy new year for the water supply. Last week's storm may have dented the drought, but it didn't do much more. The figures for December won't be available for a week or so, but I'm betting it's well short of the month's average. This week won't be much help either. We're looking at highs in the upper 40s and mostly sunny skies.

It's dark out still, but it looks like we might have some fog down by the river this morning. The high today is supposed to get all the way up to 48 today under mostly sunny skies. Right now it is 22 degrees in Minden and 24 degrees in the Gardnerville Ranchos.
