The R-C Morning Report

Three big fundraisers and a couple of tours, among other things, mark this last weekend of summer. The Elks, Methodists and the ferret rescue lady are all holding sales to support their causes. The Carson Valley Arts Council is hosting a bicycle tour, and Austin's House a poker run on Saturday. Anyone wanting to get a jump on buying some Candy Dance merchandise or listen to some music can come to Genoa Saturday night. We had a couple of wildfire calls in the area, including a tenth of an acre fire around Markleeville and a smoke report in Fay Canyon. I'm not sure where I was during those calls, since they were right in the middle of the day, but both were handled and we've got a clean slate again.

We've got a little dust-up coming through on Saturday, when the winds will be 5-15 mph with gusts of up to 25 mph. The temperature will dip down to 85, before it climbs back up into the 90s on Monday and stays nailed there for the foreseeable future. There's no moisture associated with Saturday's change, according to the National Weather Service.
