DHS student knocked down by vehicle

A 17-year-old Douglas High School student was taken to Carson Valley Medical Center on Tuesday after he was knocked down by a vehicle in the school parking lot, and hit his head on the ground.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, the student was alert enough to go to the school nurse's office where paramedics were called.

He was taken to the medical center to be examined for a possible concussion.

The sheriff's office said the boy told the girl who struck him that he was OK, so she left the scene.

The accident is under investigation.
