One killed, one injured in unrelated Douglas incidents

A man who died jumping from a moving vehicle on Jacks Valley Road may have had a history of interfering with motor vehicles while they were in motion.

Rudy Nevarez, 30, was killed at about 1:30 p.m. near Jacks Valley Elementary School, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

Last summer, Carson City resident Rudy James Nevarez was a passenger in a car traveling down Highway 395 when he reportedly became angry the driver wouldn't stop and pulled the keys out of the ignition at 60 mph.

The incident remains under investigation and no other details were released, according to Douglas County Undersheriff Paul Howell.

In an unrelated incident two hours earlier, a 26-year-old German woman on vacation in the United States, sustained multiple injuries Saturday upon landing from a skydiving jump in Minden, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

The woman, vacationing with her German boyfriend, was skydiving with Skydive Tahoe at the Minden Airport when the accident occurred around 11:30 a.m.
