Art shows open this month

The Carson Valley Art Association presents two free art shows that will be displayed through September.

One show is in the main hall at the Western Nevada College Douglas campus, 1680 Bently Parkway, Minden. More than 20 of the art association's members painted the same scene, but in more than 20 perspectives. The show may be viewed during regular class hours, Monday through Friday.

A continuing display of fine art featuring new artists monthly may be viewed at the Copeland Cultural Arts Center, 1572 Highway 395, Minden. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. A reception for the show is 5-8 p.m. Sept. 17. Snacks and beverages available.
