The R-C Morning Report

Today's the Nevada Day holiday, so county and state offices will be closed, along with local banks, such as the Greater Nevada Credit Union and Heritage Bank of Nevada. The mail should still run and there's some things to do in Carson today. Real admission day is on Oct. 31.

Saturday is the Nevada Day Parade in Carson and Halloween in Douglas. Trick or Treat Safety Street is open 3-8 p.m. Saturday back in its old haunt, the CVIC Hall. It should be a great day to get out and be immersed in the culture.

Then on Sunday, set your clocks back for another hour of fun . . . or sleep, which is probably how I'm going to use it. Standard time returns from the grave, but at least I'll get to see the sun before I get to work in the morning.

High pressure continues building today, so expect sunny skies and a high in the mid-60s. Overnight lows will come up above freezing for a bit.
