Haunted events begin Thursday

Costumed living history presenters bring the ghosts of Valley pioneers to life during Haunted Weekend, beginning Thursday and running through Sunday. Events presented by Douglas County Historical Society and Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Guided tours for the Haunted Minden Ghost Walk depart at 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. Thursday from the CVIC Hall in Minden. Tickets are $5 per person. Advanced tickets available at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center, 1477 Highway 395 in Gardnerville, Minden Town Office and Tumblewind in Minden.

The Haunted Gardnerville Ghost Walk is 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center in Gardnerville. Cost is $5 per person.

Guided tours for the 14th annual Genoa Cemetery Tour depart every 15 minutes from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $5 per person, children under 12 are free. The cemetery is at the north end of Genoa on Jacks Valley Road.

The Haunted Genoa Ghost Walk departs from the Genoa Courthouse Museum at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Sunday. Cost is $5 per person.

Remember to bring flashlights, dress warmly and wear comfortable walking shoes to keep you from becoming dead on your feet. Information, 782-2555.
