Haunted Weekend a spirited adventure into Carson Valley's past

Spirits from the past can be found on the streets and in the cemeteries of Carson Valley for the Douglas County Historical Society's Haunted Weekend, Thursday through Sunday. One thing for certain is you won't be bored to death.

Adventures begin Thursday with the Haunted Minden Ghost Walk. Tours are $5 per person and depart at 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. for a walking tour of historic and haunted sites in Minden.

The Haunted Gardnerville Ghost Walk is Friday. Tours are $5 per person and depart at 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. from the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center in Gardnerville for a walking tour of haunted sites in Gardnerville.

If you're dying to take a tour of Nevada's oldest cemetery, go to the Haunted Mottsville Cemetery Tour, 6:30-8 p.m. Saturday. Guided tours depart about every 15 minutes. Cost is $5 per person.

Step back in time and learn about hangings, murders and suicides in Nevada's first permanent settlement during the Haunted Genoa Ghost Walk on Sunday. The one and only tour departs at 11 a.m. from the Genoa Courthouse Museum on Main Street. Tickets are $5 per person.
