Gardnerville residents Bill and Ferne Bloomer will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary with their family on Oct. 20, 2009.
The Bloomers were married Oct. 20, 1944, at First Presbyterian Church in San Diego. Bill is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and retired from North Island Civil Service. The Bloomers lived in San Diego until 1990, and in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., for 10 years before moving to Carson Valley in 1989.
They are members of Carson Valley United Methodist Church in Gardnerville.
The couple have four children, William Bloomer, Thomas Bloomer, Janis Morris and Beverly Long; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
