Gaming numbers show continued decline

The last month of summer didn't do anything to improve the gaming win at the Stateline casinos.

The win was reported off 28.9 percent for the month of August compared to the same month a year ago.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board released gaming revenues for August this morning.

According to the latest figures, Stateline casinos took in $21.9 million, nearly $9 million less than in August 2008.

Carson Valley and Carson City, which includes casinos in the capital and in Douglas County outside the Lake Tahoe basin raked in $8.66 million, a 17 percent decrease from August 2008.

Statewide, gaming officials reported a 9.32 percent decrease. Stateline's decrease was the largest percentage in the state. The casino's at the lake are the main source of Douglas County's revenue from gaming.
