Thanks for helping our dogs

EDITOR:

I am writing to thank my neighbors, Trish and Carrie, and Carson Valley Veterinary Center, for finding our lost dogs during the windstorm on Nov. 20.

Our gate had blown open and our good old dogs left the yard. Somehow they got separated. Each was picked up by our wonderful neighbors, blocks away from home and each other. Because our dogs were wearing their vaccination tags, we were able to connect with the help of Carson Valley Veterinary Center.

I had to drive home from Reno to pick up our dogs. In the meantime, Trish, who had found Bandie, offered to go out in the wind to find our other dog, Goldie. Carrie went the extra mile to find out where Bandie was so she could take Goldie, frightened and howling, to reunite with her until I could get there. Lyndsey at the veterinary center facilitated all the phone calls back and forth to make this happen.

Although we had never previously met them, they cared for our beloved pets and went out of their way to see they were returned to us. We are so grateful to them, and to live in a community where neighbors understand the meaning of the word.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
