The first set of Douglas elementary school children were vaccinated against H1N1 swine flu on Monday. A district official estimated they received permission slips for fewer than half the students to participate.

The Weather Service is predicting it will rain a bit tonight in the Valley, with most of this latest storm hitting further north. The winds will start to pick up at about 10 a.m., and really get going this afternoon, with gusts of up to 26 mph. We're forecast to receive a 50th of an inch through the storm. The Tahoe basin might pick up an inch or two of snow.
