Holiday craft fair season kicks off with three sales Saturday

Closet Crafters

The Closet Crafters' fifth annual sale of homemade crafts is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Carson Valley Community Food Closet, 1255 Waterloo Lane, Gardnerville.

The Closet Crafters offer jewelry, holiday decorations and ornaments, big and little purses, knitted and crocheted items. Treats include peanut brittle, applesauce, English toffee, candy and baked goods. Raffle drawings and a section of gently used gift items. Proceeds benefit the food closet. Information, 782-3711.


Methodist women

Carson Valley United Methodist Women host their holiday craft fair 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the church, 1375 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville.

Available for purchase are holiday decorations, jewelry, gently used treasures, flower bulbs and baked goods including pecan caramel cinnamon rolls. Take your own photos with Santa, 10 a.m. to noon. Kids' activities, face painting and free baby-sitting. Music and choir caroling.

Silent auction and raffles. Chili lunch is $5 for adults 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Hot dog lunch for children, $2. Information, 782-4600.


Sagehens boutique

The Topaz Sagehens 27th annual Fall Boutique is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Topaz Ranch Estates Community Center, 4001 Carter Way, off Highway 208 in Wellington.

The event features local artisans and crafters, specialty item drawing and raffle prizes, bake sale, items, homemade candies and salsa.

Lunch is chili dogs and hot dogs, soft drink, coffee and treats.

Funds raised at the boutique benefit local charities, civic organizations and Douglas High School scholarships.
