A celebration of life was Saturday in Palos Verde, Calif., for Millie L Rothi, 87, who died May 4, 2009, at the Zephyr Cove home of her daughter and son-in-law Terri and Bill Downey following an extended illness.
Born March 26,1922, in Spring Valley, Wis., Mrs. Rothi was the only member of her family to graduate from college, working as a nurse, elementary school teacher and school nurse before retiring.
She spent her retirement years enjoying family and friends, travel, and most particularly a good bridge hand.
She was preceded in death by husband Robert Rothi and son Dave Rothi.
She is survived by children Brian (Cindy) Rothi, Leslie (Ricardo) Gonzalez-Rothi, Teresa (Bill) Downey; grandchildren, Alison and Greg Lynch, Kim, Kevin and Megan Rothi, and Elisa and Sara Gonzalez-Rothi.
The family requests donations be directed to Barton Hospice, 2092 Lake Tahoe Blvd., No. 500, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150.
