The R-C Morning Report

The community assessment listening sessions begin at 1:15 p.m. today with Douglas County's largest community, the Gardnerville Ranchos. The session will take place at Station 7 on Mitch Drive. Second on the agenda for today are healthcare, social services and non-profits at 2:45 p.m. at the Copeland building in Minden, where the sessions will remain for economic development at 4 p.m., Town of Gardnerville at 6:30 p.m. and real estate, building and construction at 7:45 p.m.

Commissioners approved the first reading of the rewrite of the outdoor festival permit ordinance. A second reading is set for their meeting at Stateline, perhaps in time for people to get their summer permits done.

Expect the hot weather to roll in by the end of the week, when we'll crack 90 degrees for the first time since last fall. Today's high will hit 78, and breezy under mostly sunny skies. The high temperatures will cool off a little more on Tuesday and then begin the long climb upward.
