A memorial service is 1 p.m. March 26 at the Living Word Fellowship in Gardnerville for former resident John S. O'Niell, 51, who died March 9, 2009, at Renown Medical Center.
Born Feb. 14,1958, in Hollywood, Calif., to LeRoy and Audrey (Smith) O'Niell, he had lived in Dayton for the past year after living in Gardnerville since 1994.
Mr. O'Niell loved to fly fish and was involved with the Reel Recovery Fly Fishing Group.
He loved flying remote control aircraft, music, the outdoors and video games.
He is survived by significant other Madge Wall of Dayton; sons Dillon and Dustin O'Niell of Gardnerville; daughters Audriana O'Niell and Tasha Hamilton of Gardnerville; brother James O'Niell of Simi Valley, Calif.; sisters Cathryn O'Niell of El Paso, Texas and Patricia O'Niell of Sacramento; adopted sister Molly Magoon of Simi Valley, Calif. and grandchildren Justice and Xavier Hamilton of Gardnerville.
