High Sierra Flycasters host fundraiser dinner March 14

The High Sierra Flycasters' annual fundraising dinner is March 14 at the CVIC Hall on Esmeralda Avenue in Minden. The no-host bar opens at 5:30 p.m. Dinner at 7 p.m. is provided by Hey Ewe Barbecue operated by Todd Wilcks and family.

Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. The event includes silent auction, raffle and a door prize. Liz Weirach gives a presentation the year's events in photos, including notable catches. Tickets available at the Anglers Edge, 782-4734.

The High Sierra Flycasters Club has promoted fly-fishing, conservation, stream restoration and education in the Eastern Sierra for more than 10 years. The HSFC supports local and nationwide organizations that provide retreats and recreational fly-fishing opportunities for people with cancer " Reel Recovery for men with cancer, Casting for Recovery for women with breast cancer, and Reel Kids for children with cancer.

Proceeds from the fundraising dinner are used for these programs and to support other fly-fishing, conservation or educational causes. In addition to monetary support, HSFC provides hands-on support to the Nevada Department of Wildlife and the Alpine Watershed Group.
