Trigg should apologize

EDITOR:

"You can't let them think the Indians are running the camp?" As president of the Douglas County School Board and the Democratic candidate for Congress, you of all people, Cynthia Trigg should know better than to make such a politically incorrect statement. What does this insensitive statement say to our impressionable children, especially those of Native American descent?

I am not of Native American descent and not only did your statement offend me, it embarrassed me because I live in a community that is steeped in the culture and history of our Native American people. I believe Ms. Trigg owes the Native American community an apology and needs to take a class on political correctness in the 21st century.

Seriously Ms. Trigg, not exactly PC for a school board president or someone running for Congress. Our proud Native American community should take offense to your insensitive statement, and rightly so.
